GOCS Underwriting Specialist (1pm-9pm shift)

About this Opportunity

The GOCS Underwriting Specialist executes routine and complex transactions with general supervision referring the most complex and risk related transactions to management. Interacts with customers to assess problems and gather information that must be escalated. Have an understanding of the operational procedures and systems, but will be expected to undergo training to keep up the pace of operational changes and to develop appropriate levels of subject matter expertise.

The Global Operations, Client Services & Administration group delivers world-class safety and soundness for the global financial services industry. The team provides DTCC’s portfolio of core securities and superior transaction processing and client services support in an environment that minimizes risk and cost while maximizing efficiency.


What You'll Do

  • Assess and prioritize the daily assigned workload to ensure accurate and timely completion of work.
  • Review and process new issue eligibility requests for all sub issue types supported by Underwriting.
  • Effectively interact with participants, paying agents, transfer agents, and any other external clients of DTCC.
  • Ensures strict adherence to procedures and critical time frames in order to meet accuracy and timeliness benchmarks.
  • Perform a data validation of new issue items made eligible.
  • Perform any additional procedures (functions) for which the Underwriting department is responsible (e.g. Closing Desk, Packaging, etc.)
  • Review, process and validate Corporate Action, Limited Eligibility and Older Issue requests.
  • Identify processing inefficiencies and risks within the department, and provide recommendations to address such items.
  • Provide input and guidance to other Specialists in relation to problem resolution and procedures. Maintain an unrelenting focus on meeting the needs/requests of our clients; including responding to client inquiries timely and accurately (in line with departmental benchmarks/metrics), and in resolving, and/or escalating problems promptly.
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

    Sound Like You?

    • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
