Business Unit Description:

Our Risk Management teams work to protect the safety and soundness of our systems and are responsible for identifying, managing, measuring and mitigating a spectrum of key risk types including credit, market, liquidity, systemic, operational and technology in all existing and new products, activities, processes and systems.

Position Summary:

The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the receipt, review and appropriate dissemination of relevant security awareness and law enforcement ‘Advisory’ information for review by designated DTCC stakeholders. The incumbent will be required to stay abreast of all international adverse incidents and events that may have a direct impact on DTCC global operations as well as employee safety and travel. This position will also require continuous engagement with law enforcement specifically in the areas of counterterrorism and domestic criminal activity as well as an acute understanding of international terrorism and domestic crime trends. Based on the importance and significance of this position, the scope of responsibilities will extend beyond Global Security Management to include other core entities within DTCC responsible for risk mitigation and employee safety and security.  

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Principal departmental coordinator for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of pertinent law enforcement and intelligence information on a global basis
  • Analyze and prepare ‘Site Risk & Vulnerability Assessments’ for all global DTCC physical locations
  • Direct oversight of the Global Security Management ‘Employee Travel Monitoring’ program and semiannual ‘Security Reports’ for select DTCC global locations
  • Manage and supervise the primary global ‘Security Operation Center’ at DTCC-Jersey City and formulate a strategic training curriculum for the global-wide security staff
  • Provide oversight, assistance, and guidance to the Global Security Management representative assigned to the NYPD Lower Manhattan Security Initiative
  • Coordinate the preparation of International Travel Assessments for all business travel and personal travel upon request; formulate and prepare security advisory notices for inter-departmental usage
  • Maintain continuous and appropriate liaison with international, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, including the US Department of State – Overseas Security Advisory Council and the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Domestic Security Alliance Council
  • Active participation and membership with various international security and safety management organizations
  • Possess a strong working knowledge and understanding of international criminal and terrorism emerging trends
  • Strong investigative background with prior law enforcement experience at a supervisory level
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

  • Minimum of 15+ years’ experience in law enforcement; Corporate security experience preferred
  • Maintain an active US Government issued ‘Security Clearance’
  • Knowledge of Security Command Operations Centers
  • Knowledge of information sharing/dissemination protocols between law enforcement and private industry
