Position Summary

The Tribe Architect role participates defining the target architecture of the product/functional area/products of the Tribe from the enterprise point of view and ensures the architecture’s integrity and compliance with enterprise standards and policies. The role will require that the individual be familiar with current and emerging technologies, tools and system architectures. The candidate must possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex business processes and technical designs and concerns into easy to understand language.

 

 

Responsibilities, Knowledge and Skills:

        DTCC Cross AD Domains Knowledge is a plus

        In-depth knowledge with DTCC IT4IT Programs and Initiatives is a plus

        Understanding of DSRA, Use-Case Architectures, Developer Marketplace and asset’s support, maturity and certification models

        Well versed with enterprise standards, policies, regulatory and compliance related items

        Design architecture standards along with other Tribe architects

        Technology Selection and Application Design, and make proposals to roll out successful solutions before the Architecture Council

        Responsible in update of a current architecture / design target architecture and architecture components/ standards of the Tribe roadmap

        Define critical non-functional requirements for the solution

        Manage temporary solutions and technical debt at the Tribe/Cluster level

        Make sure Tribe architecture conforms to the Tribe's architecture standards and the organization’s overall target architecture

        Ensure the architecture synchronized among tribe squads and manage interdependencies with architecture solutions of other Tribes

        Participate in release preparation and planning to determine the necessary architecture improvements according to the architecture roadmap and current priorities in the Tribe backlog.

        Determine necessary technology competencies for Squads together with Tribe lead and Enterprise Architect.

        Discovers new enterprise re-usable assets for publishing in Developer Marketplace and promote re-use of existing assets in AD projects.

        Is familiar with different software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and leads team in process best practices of chosen methodology

        Understanding his or her role in Agile as an actively participating consultant/ advisor in solution development and enforcing compliance with standards, as opposed to a theorist architect creating infeasible "ideal" solutions

        Communicates complicated technical concepts effectively to a broad group of stakeholders.

        Provide mentoring, knowledge transfer and assist in training for other team members.

Technology Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of in the following: Java/J2EE, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript Framework, REST, Java/JEE Design Patterns, Spring

• Track Record Experience in developing web applications, web services, Java enterprise applications, and messaging applications

• Architecture Experience of API, SOA and RESTful Web Services concepts

• Knowledge and Familiarity with Cloud computing concepts and IaaS, PaaS, SaaS

• In-Depth Knowledge and Familiarity with Cloud and AWS Services - VPC, EC2, Route 53, API Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing, IAM, Lambda, BeanStalk, ElastiCache, S3, EBS, RDS, DynamoDB, DAX, PostgreSQL, CLI

• Knowledge and Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps concepts and tools, GIT/Bitbucket, Nexus, Jenkins, CloudBees, Maven, Junit, JMeter, Mockito, FindBugs, JIRA

 

 

Requirements / Qualifications

        Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Application Development;

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Developer;

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Application Architect / Technical Lead / Manager

• Track Record of Successfully Leading Multiple Enterprise Initiatives

        1+ years in Agile as an architect or engineer (or similar role)

        Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

        Excellent oral and written communication skills along with and ability to communicate at all levels.

        Knowledge of the latest technology / technical trends and ability to find new solutions outside conventional frameworks and to make radical change, all the while maintaining compliance with standards or changing standards if they go out of date

        Ability to estimate the financial impact of various solution architecture alternatives

        Must be comfortable working in an open, highly collaborative team

        Strong troubleshooting skills

 

 

Education, Training &/or Certification:

        Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline.

        One or more AWS certifications preferred.

        Scrum Master certification (or equivalent) is a plus
