Business Unit Description:

Enterprise Infrastructure delivers infrastructure capabilities that emphasize the collaboration between development and infrastructure to meet business needs. This is done by providing technology services that are agile, timely, cost-effective, and risk appropriate.


Position Summary:

The Manger of the Corporate Network Engineering group is responsible for execution of all the projects within this group’s portfolio of work, which includes:

·       Develops their staff by assigning challenging projects across all domains

·       Executes the function of manager consistent with internal standards and the highest performance expectations

·       Works as a community of practitioners to elevate the performance of all the processes and tools used to support their area.

·       Works closely with all areas of DTCC IT to ensure broad collaboration in the execution of projects.


Manages multiple projects, professional and technical staff, and other related activities including the research and monitoring of technological trends and directions, and the analysis of the organizations use of IT to identify technological opportunities to support corporate and client areas short and long range plans and objectives.  Directs or conducts research projects to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and develops plans and strategies to introduce new technology which will provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.  Assigns personnel to the various projects and directs activities.  Reviews, evaluates and prepares periodic performance reports of the staff.  Prepares activity and progress reports on activities of section.  Performs related duties as assigned or requested


Specific Responsibilities:

·         Follow the DTCC processes and methodologies for delivering projects. 

·        Define and review project scope and successfully plan and track execution while maintaining profitable engagement with Product Management, ADM, Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, Information Security, OCIO, IT Architecture, and any other impacted stakeholders.

·        Work closely with all project stakeholder groups to coordinate the project milestones

·        Define and lead financial management for the project

·        Track project actuals against defined milestones and revisit the overall plan as and when necessary

·        Understand and translate cross-team dependencies into actionable plans

·         Identify and secure resources required to execute the plan and monitor resource utilization by continuously analyzing staffing requirements and resource allocations

·         Ensure delivered products meet defined business requirements and are of high quality

·        Proactively identify and manage risks. Plan for an effective risk mitigation 

·        Lead and define the change management process for projects

·        Track projects against approved budgets and report on forecasts and variances

·        Support the iterative business planning process

·        Provide periodic progress report on project status and create a dashboard for sponsors

·        Ensure senior management remains abreast of status and hold them accountable for facilitating mitigation of risks and resolution of escalated issues

·         Inspire and lead through effective team management

·         Resolve issues in a timely manner

·        Work with multiple stakeholders in the Business and IT to meet the desired objectives

·         Build a communications strategy and execution plan for the project



Minimum of 6 years’ experience with a strong Network and Datacenter Operations background. Additionally leading IT projects and programs (4+ years of experience leading complex IT-centric projects with enterprise infrastructure components) with a very strong Cisco routing and switching background along with a strong Security practices background;

·       High degree of knowledge with Operating Systems and Networking technologies utilizing Packet/Message/Circuit switching, wireless, voice and video technologies.

·        Highly proficient in network design and implementation. Competency in WAN/LAN networking technologies; routed network infrastructures and protocols; legacy system protocol’s; and LAN network and DNS architectures.

·        Competency in security methodologies; Firewalls, access control lists, encryption and public key infrastructure... Understanding WEB technology & implementation, and relational database systems.

·         Experience on Vblock technologies.

·         Competency in LAN acceleration devices such as Riverbed

·        Possesses an understanding of enterprise technology infrastructure, application development & maintenance, software testing, and IT architecture.

·         Possesses an understanding of Infrastructure mainframe and distributed technologies as they relate to providing technical solutions to application and business requirements

·        Exemplifies leadership characteristics in support of DTCC corporate objectives.

·         Demonstrates expertise in business requirements development, program management, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and communication

·        Masters Organizational Navigation, i.e. is adaptive to the management team assigned as the project sponsor

·        Ability to garner trust among project team and stakeholders

·        Drives corrective actions to mitigate project risks



·         Minimum of 10 years of related experience

·         Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
