Business Analyst

About this Opportunity

Business Analysts are the central point of contact between the automation configuration team and business process SMEs. They work with the business units to gather and refine existing process documentation and conduct reviews with process SMEs to evaluate, prioritize, and create a roadmap for future process automation. May work closely with other areas of Business Architecture to identify areas for process optimization and re-engineering.

The team provides DTCC’s portfolio of core securities and superior transaction processing and client services support in an environment that minimizes risk and cost while maximizing efficiency.


What You'll Do

  • Central point of contact between automation configuration team and business process SMEs
  • Gathers and reviews existing process documentation with process SMEs
  • Analyzes and clearly documents business process requirements for the automation build including exception handling scenarios and process metrics such as volumes, SLAs and cycle times
  • Works with business process SMEs to identify potential reengineering opportunities to streamline the use of automation (e.g., use of an application interface vs. a user screen)
  • Works with configuration analysts in the collection and documentation of solution design requirements, as needed
  • Documents operational run books that describe the steps of the automated process and exception scenarios
  • Facilitates user acceptance testing
  • Records and communicates defects identified by the business in user acceptance testing
  • Provides training to the business process SMEs and their teams on performing the new process using automation
  • Supports remediation of production defects, as needed
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

    Additional Qualifications

    • Experience with business/system analysis and requirements documentation
    • Experience/knowledge of business process re-engineering
    • Good communication skills with the ability to present non-technical details to a technical audience
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
    • Awareness off automation design and development considerations including Agile methodologies
